Kim Preston's work is a variety of fashion, beauty, and commercial photography. She enjoys the intermingling of the shutter and psychology of the subject bringing out emotion and truth through her images whether it be a commissioned project or personal one.
Originally hailing from Southern California, Kim attended Cal State Northridge where she received her BA in Photography. Shortly after Kim moved to New York where she spent the next 5 years freelancing and assisting under some of the city's best commercial and fashion photographers. These experiences lead her to gain work with local clothing brands, recording artists, the inclusion into group art shows and the eventual publishing of her first coffee table book entitled Girl About Town.
Now, back in Los Angeles, Kim is continuing her commercial photography work as well as leading the Los Angeles branch of the Camera of the Month Club. The official west coast branch of the New York-based Photo collective of the same name.
